To recover and restore a variety of threatened marine species, while connecting people to ocean wildlife.
Saving the Blue.
In 2018, Annie and her husband Dr. Tristan Guttridge established and launched Saving the Blue, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to conserving the ocean.
With over ten years of field research experience working with a wide variety of sharks, rays, and turtles. Annie has assisted scientists with an array of projects and has published work. Annie has helped with a variety of projects, including behavioral trials, long lining, drum lining and gillnet surveys in ecology and biodiversity studies. She has also assisted with research on space use patterns via acoustic telemetry, satellites and more.
As the President of Saving the Blue she is excited to share the nonprofit’s goals and missions for the years ahead. Please view this page for a glimpse into their work or visit www.savingtheblue.org for more detailed information
In Focus.
Sponsorship
Each year Saving the Blue sponsors a number of positions to join research expeditions. We welcome minority groups, youth, service members, and veterans and their families. Please view our website for more information.
Outreach
Children look up to those around them for advice and guidance, so we decided to create a special movement centered on conversation and education, starting with something as simple as a bamboo toothbrush.
Research
We aim to inspire, influence, and coach a generation of ocean advocates through hands on, in-field research activities. Guests support our efforts by joining Saving the Blue on week long, science-based expeditions.
Missions.
As the president of Saving the Blue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Annie helps lead a team of passionate and knowledgeable marine advocates and scientists towards five important missions.
